Angels of Hope 2012 Calendar

Kenny Barnes Studio is now finalizing all of the paintings for the Angels of Hope for our 2012 calendar. Each year, our studio raises money to support the ongoing mission of Women of Hope. This organization is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization of the studio and provides education, support services, and financial assistance to women undergoing cancer treatment. Also, we provide education to family members, friends, and the community about the effects of cancer and how to support these women in our community.

Cancer, as many of you know from personal experience, is a tragic disease that afflicts too many in our society. This experience became personal for us when our own daughter received this diagnosis in August 2009. After walking this journey beside her, we became all too aware of the devastation that comes to a family from a cancer diagnosis. From this experience, we strived to make a positive difference and assist these women in our community who would make this same journey behind us.

Now, this is where you can help us!

We know that you have many opportunities through each year to “give to charity”. As you think about your giving this year, please consider Women of Hope and help us to reach our goal of raising $25,000 this year! It’s a challenging goal, but with your help, it is attainable!

There are three ways we invite you to help:

1) Go online to www.kennybarnes.com and vote for your favorite angel from September 18th through October 15th. With each vote, you donate $1.00 to Women of Hope. You can vote as often as you like and for as many angels as you choose.

2) Order the 2012 “Angels of Hope” calendar. These calendars make great gifts for friends, family, coworkers, teachers, neighbors, employees, and other who you would like to give a gift. Discounts are available for bulk orders for fundraising events. Plus $2.00 from each sale is donated directly to Women of Hope. Call the studio or go on line to place your order. What a great way to get a head start on your holiday shopping list!

About Us

Women of Hope” a 501(c)(3) charitable organization is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the female cancer patient, their families, and friends. We offer educational opportunities, financial assistance, as well as various support services. These provided services are designed to help with the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of all that have been touched by cancer. By providing free of charge opportunities one can join with others to share their experience, strengths and most importantly, their hope!

Currently, any survivor may enroll in one of four different "Focused On You" Support Programs. The community is invited to “Live, Laugh, Learn,” a monthly meeting conducted by various physicians, teachers and survivors. We also serve as a patient advocate to provide meal provisions, house cleaning, child care during chemo treatment as we network with existing agencies such as, Social Services, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, and others, to tap into programs that are currently in existence.

Many of the requests submitted to Women of Hope are for financial assistance. We are able to provide these services through the generosity of individual and corporate giving, fundraisers, and community grants.

Women of Hope can provide a variety of programs and opportunities to all people regardless of income, race, religion, age, or where they choose to go for treatment.

Angels of Hope

2010 Charity Campaign

In March of this year, Kenny Barnes Studio founded a non-profit foundation called Women of Hope. The vision for Women of Hope is to come along side women and their families who are in their cancer survivorship journey to support them with information sharing, education, and other helpful resources. The moment the diagnosis of cancer is received, the survivorship journey begins. Check out our website at www.womenofhopefightcancer.com to see more information and news on Women of Hope.

Cancer is a tragic disease that affects so many. Women accounted for 48% of newly diagnosed cancer cases in 2009. These are wives and mothers, sisters and friends with professional and family responsibilities. That’s why we want to help these women.

We found ourselves beginning this journey with our daughter, Kelly, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2009. This came as a complete surprise because there is no history of cancer in our families. We found ourselves searching for information and answers to help us prepare for what Kelly was about to face. We also realized how much we each could make a difference by helping those who will also travel this journey.

As a fundraiser for Women of Hope and the fact that we are portraits artists, we came up with the idea of the “Angels of Hope” calendar. We will be photographing children, ages of newborn to 3 years old, in July and August for the 2011 calendar. Then, in September and October, we will make the images available for voting on line. Each vote will be a $1 donation to Women of Hope. The photographs with the most votes will be included in the 2011 calendar. These calendars will be available for $12.99 each, with $2 from each sale going directly to Women of Hope.

There are several ways we are inviting you to help:

1) Be one of the first to schedule your child (newborn – 3 years old) to be photographed as an angel for our “Angels of Hope” calendar. The portrait dates are July 30– 31 and August 13 – 14, 2010. Our regular session fee is $100.00. For this special charity event, we ask that you consider making a $50.00 or more donation to Women of Hope. In lieu of the studio session fee.

2) Go online during the months of September and October to vote for your favorite angel. With each vote, you donate $1 to Women of Hope. You can vote as many times as you like!

3) Order the 2011 “Angels of Hope” calendar, featuring the angels from the September and October voting period. These calendars make great gifts for friends, family, coworkers, teachers, neighbors, employees, and others who you would like to give a gift. Discounts are available for bulk orders.
